All games shall be played as defined and regulated by the laws of the game of the South African Bowling Association.
Members wishing to play bowls may do so on the greens allocated if they have their own bowls, but only members of the Bowls Sections may take part in organised games.
A Kelvin Grove Bowls Committee member, or, in his/her absence, the Kelvin Grove Bowls Club Chairman, shall decide when the greens are not in a condition for play.
Except where otherwise determined in paragraph (3) above, the greens shall be available for play as follows:
• Monday am: Closed
• Monday pm: Twilight Bowls: Mixed Tabs-in (by 17:15 for play at 17:30) – October to March
• Tuesday: Open all day
• Wednesday am: Closed
• Wednesday pm: Mixed – Tabs-in by 13h45 for play at 14h00
• Thursday: Open all day
• Friday am: Closed
• Friday pm: Mixed – Tabs-in by 13h45 for play at 14h00
• Saturday am: Closed
• Saturday pm: Open for Social Bowls
• Sunday am: Open for Social Bowls
• Sunday pm: Open for Social Bowls
• Public Holidays am: Mixed Tabs-in
The Bowls Committee may request members of their section to make a contribution towards the running of their section.
Dress Code:
– Tabs-In Wednesday and Friday and Club Competitions
White or navy short/trousers and plain collared shirts worn throughout the year in
any combination (patterned clothing is not considered acceptable).
Only flat soled shoes with no heel to be worn. In the case of sandals a back strap
Is mandatory.
– Tournaments
As per the above but where possible a Kelvin Grove Club Bowls shirt.
– Saturdays, Sundays, Monday Twilight bowls and Public Holidays
Casual
Coaching for new members:
Kelvin Grove Club bowls and some initial coaching from members is provided for. New bowlers joining Kelvin Bowls are provided – unlike other clubs – with free coaching by members of an experienced panel and the use of club bowls for three months.
