SPECIAL FESTIVE EVENTS AT KELVIN GROVE
With the Festive season upon us, I am using this opportunity to remind members of the various Club functions that have been organised over this period.
We start off on Thursday 3 December with “Mr Music”, Alvon Collison, at the Club Luncheon. Alvon will have you singing and dancing at your table. What a way to start off the Festive Season and put you in the right mood for the upcoming holidays.
This event will be followed on Saturday 5 December, with a function for the whole family. Santa’s Picnic will take the same form as last year, with picnic packs available for both adults and children. Please remember to bring your own picnic blankets as chairs will not be provided.
Kelvin’s Christmas Antique Fair will be held on Sunday 6 December in the Ballroom. This is a perfect opportunity to buy that special Christmas gift for a loved one, or just to spoil yourself !
Our Christmas Afternoon Tea (the last one to be held on a Friday) will take place on Friday 11 December. Come and enjoy a selection of teatime treats. Due to numerous requests received from Members, we will be reverting back to holding the Afternoon Tea on a Wednesday from January 2010.
Another function planned for the whole family is our Christmas Family Luncheon on Sunday 13 December in the Grill Room. Enjoy Kelvin’s Christmas carvery with family and friends.
Not forgetting our children, we have arranged for Sporting Chance to be back on the field during the school holidays from 14-18 December and again on 11-12 January 2010. All children between the ages of 4 and12 can participate. For more information please contact Warren on 021-683 7299.
For the young at heart, we are holding a 70’s + 80’s Theme Party in the Pool Bar on Tuesday 15 December. Dance the night away with resident DJ, Tom Kenmuir - put on that “Greace outfit” or bell-bottoms, if they still fit !
On Thursday 24 December, celebrate Christmas Eve at Kelvin where you will have two functions to choose from, namely:
*Christmas Eve Dinner in the Terrace – 19:30. Piano background music and a five course Festive set menu at R210 pp (excluding Service Charge); or
*Christmas Eve Dinner in the Ballroom – 19:30. Piano music with Alan van der Merwe. A plated starter with a Festive carvery at R210 per adult and R100 per child (under 12 years) (excluding Service Charge).
Celebrate New Year at Kelvin also with two functions to choose from, namely:
*New Year’s Eve’s Dinner Dance/Cabaret in the Ballroom - 20:00. Alvon Collison will sing and swing you into the New Year. A plated starter with a Festive carvery at R320 pp (excluding Service Charge); or
*New Year’s Eve Bash in the Waterside area and Terrace Restaurant – 20:00. Resident popular DJ Tom Kenmuir will present “Dancing through the decades”. There will also be a carvery at R195 pp (excluding Service Charge).

No cancellations will be accepted after 1 December and NO REFUNDS will be made.
If you have booked for a function, do not take up your booking, and you do not cancel by contacting Nicolette Haywood at least 48 hours prior to the function, you will be charged the original function charge. Due to the popularity of these functions, seating is limited. Please have consideration for other members who may be on a Waiting List and may wish to attend.
